Network Asset Tracker Pro 5.0.2 Released — Software License Compliance

We are pleased to announce the release of Network Asset Tracker Pro 5.0.2, available in both Pro and Special Edition (SE). The headline feature of this update is Software License Compliance — so you can see at a glance whether your organization is under-licensed, over-licensed, or exposed to audit risk, without spending hours cross-checking spreadsheets.

What's New in Version 5.0.2:

• Automatic Software Recognition: Installed software found during scans is automatically grouped into recognizable products (every edition and version of Microsoft Office, for example, is treated as one product), so your compliance picture stays clean without manual cleanup.
• License Compliance Report: A new report shows, for every product you track, how many copies are installed, how many you own, and whether you're compliant, under-licensed (at risk), or over-licensed (paying for unused seats).
• Dashboard Summary: Your compliance status now appears right on the Overview dashboard, with an at-a-glance count of at-risk products and one click through to the full report.
• License & Entitlement Tracking: A new Entitlements window lets you record what you own — quantity, license type (per-device, per-user, subscription, volume, etc.), vendor, purchase date, cost, and license key — with search-as-you-type product lookup.
• Renewal & Expiry Alerts: Set an expiry date on any license and get an early warning, both in the report and on the dashboard, before it lapses — plus a clear flag for anything already expired.
• Spend & Savings Insights: See your total recorded license spend, an estimate of what it would cost to fix any shortfall, and an estimate of money tied up in unused or over-licensed seats.
• Unauthorized Software Detection: Flag specific software as unauthorized (games, unapproved remote-access tools, etc.) in the Software Catalog, and any of it found on your network is called out clearly in the report and on the dashboard.
• Software Catalog Editor: Review and fine-tune how software titles are recognized, mark products as licensable or unauthorized, and quickly map several unrecognized programs at once. Catalog and Entitlements lists now also support click-to-sort columns.

Also in this release:

• Purchase and expiry dates are now entered with a calendar date picker instead of typed text.
• Fixed an issue where creating a new SQLite database could incorrectly report that a database already existed.
• Databases created with earlier versions are automatically and safely updated in place — no need to recreate your database to get the new features.

Version 5.0.2 is a free update for all existing 5.x license holders. The database format is fully compatible with previous 5.x releases — just install on top of your current version.
